Nordea’s Emerging Stars Bond Strategy  awarded “Towards Sustainability” label

LUXEMBOURG, LU — Nordea Asset Management is honoured to receive recognition from the Belgian Central Labelling Agency in the form of a “Towards Sustainability” label for its Emerging Stars Bond Strategy.

The Central Labelling Agency (CLA) of the Belgian SRI label announced its decision to award Nordea’s Emerging Stars Bond Strategy the “Towards Sustainability” label. “We are really thrilled about recent developments in ESG awareness in the Belgian market and see the Towards Sustainability label as a further endorsement of Nordea’s longstanding engagement in sustainable investments,” said Roger De Passe, Head of Nordea Asset Management’s Belgian branch. “We are looking forward to creating further value for the Belgian investors with our distribution partners.”

Nordea’s Emerging Stars Bond Strategy represents Nordea’s expansion into Fixed Income ESG solutions. “In the same way that ESG risk is an important factor in EM equities, it can be particularly material in the Emerging Market debt environment,” says Thede Rüst, Head of Nordea’s EM Debt Team and manager of the strategy. “This strategy is designed to beat the benchmark and deliver long-term sustainable returns by offering a materially improved ESG profile compared to the general market.”*

The Towards Sustainability Initiative aspires to increase the quality of socially responsible and sustainable financial products, and to reassure potential investors that labelled financial products are managed in keeping with the highest sustainability standards. Independent supervision by the CLA protects the integrity of the quality standard and the label. For more information on the “Towards Sustainability” label, visit www.towardssustainability.be
